Hello,
It is most likely because saving tab sessions is disabled. To re-enable this, go to menu > settings > home and startup, then under the startup section, check the box next to Open previous windows and tabs.
Other ways around this is to bookmark all tabs into a tab group in the bookmarks bar. To do so, press Ctrl + shift + D (windows), and then bookmark. You can reopen the group by right clicking the group of tabs and selecting "open all tabs".
A couple of extra things to check if that setting is already turned on:
1. Firefox only remembers your open tabs when it closes cleanly. If you shut down your PC with Firefox still open, or it crashed, the tabs can be lost. Try closing Firefox first (Menu > Exit, or File > Exit), then reopen it — the tabs should come back.
2. In Settings > Privacy & Security, make sure "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" is NOT ticked — that option wipes the saved tab session.
If it happens again, before opening lots of new tabs, go to Menu > History > Recently Closed Windows — your previous window is usually listed there and you can bring the whole lot back at once.
