After every update of thunderbird, existing e-mail account settings is lost.

After every new update, existing mail account settings is lost, need to restore it from previous profile backup all the time. is there any permanent resolution of this issue? I am using multiple e-mail accounts.

It sounds like a new profile is being created after updates. You can check the list at Help > Troubleshooting Information > about:profiles.

Make sure that every update is installed into the same program directory.
