I went backward on the Thunderbird version because the new update eliminated using a number of add-ons that I used. Now I constantly get nagged to do an update. The NEVER CHECK FOR UPDATES option has been elininated under settings. I have set all of the updates options to FALSE in configuration editor but the nagpopup continues. Why have the organizers of Thunderbird decided to make it so hard for users to not do updates?

If you are on 68.12.1 you will see the notice - but you can simply ignore them.
