Can't browse to set a sound file

I’m running Thunderbird on a dual-boot PC with Win 7 and Linux- Mint Cinnamon. I’ve been trying to get them to read the same data, with varying success.

I tried to set a path to play a sound for incoming messages. Unfortunately I edited in Linux, but now when running Win 7 I can’t get the “browse” button to access the original sound file.

I made the same mistake months ago, but can’t find the reply I read when someone kindly explained how to edit the system to get the browse button to read files again.

I can't see an answer there, but thanks for your reply. However, I have since found the details I was looking for again, here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1119690 It's how to use the config editor to change the sound file url.

As I said, making the mistake of editing sound file preferences in Linux TB makes it impossible to access it when rebooted in Win 7 TB. I've now saved the details in a file, just in case!
