Why am I getting extra Other Bookmarks folders, and how can I remove just the extras?
In addition to the Other Bookmarks folder at the bottom of the sidebar, 3 additional Other Bookmarks folders have appeared within other folders, all containing the same bookmarks. If I delete a bookmark in one Other Bookmarks folder it disappears from the others. I am concerned that if I delete one extra Other Bookmarks folder the others will all disappear with their bookmarks. How can I delete just the extra Other Bookmarks folders, and why did they just show up?

Sorry to hear about that. It sounds like some kind of data corruption, which I know is not something you or anyone else wants to hear.
Could you export your current bookmarks to an HTML-format backup file? This would be readable in tab in Firefox and re-importable if needed. This article has the steps: Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks. If you open that file, does it have the same duplication or is it clean?
Do you know how long your Firefox has had this problem?
Hi. Thanks for your response. To answer your questions: 1) The file has the same duplication. 2) I have had this problem for 6 months or more. Up until 1 month ago I only had one duplicate. Now I have 3.
Thanks. Considering the length of time, there's no point rolling back to one of Firefox's automatic backups (only about 2 weeks' worth).
I don't know whether there are any tools to clean up the problem automatically. Unfortunately, I can't recall what users did when this came up in the past here or on r/Firefox. Hopefully someone else has an idea.
My own bookmarks have duplicates, but I never find the time to clean them up, so procrastination is another option for some people.
