If you are saving an html shortcut then you get the icon for whatever app you use to view html files, which . . . is Fx most likely
Thank you for your reply but it is a url internet shortcut to different websites. Instead of showing the icon for the website it shows the firefox icon for everything.
Hi,
If you are referring to New Tab shortcuts, make sure you include full URLs (with https:// etc.)
When i click on the shield button on firefox toolbar and drag it to my desktop to make a url shortcut for the site that i'm on it makes the fox icon instead of the icon of the website i'm making the shortcut for. It started this a few days ago after my last firefox update. Something has changed and i can't find what is.
Can someone help me please! Everything was fine until my last firefox update and after that every time i click on the shield button on the toolbar to drag a url shortcut to my desktop it makes a fox icon instead of the icon of the site that i am on. I can change it thru properties/change icon but i don't want to do that every time i make a shortcut. Something was changed with the update and i can't find what it is. I wish i had not updated. I want it working right again.
Several people are looking into it internally.
The closest is bugzilla.mozilla.org/1786208 and it all appears pretty intermittent.
Does your installation come from Microsoft Store? Or have you changed your installation source recently?
