why does it default to the desktop version when I'm using a tablet?

I'm using the tablet but it keeps defaulting to the desktop site. It's annoying to have to keep changing it.

Desktop is default for tablet. You can change that: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-change-desktop-view-firefox-android
