I can no longer use Thunderbird on Xfinity

I get a pop up that says “Login to server imap.comcast.net with user name actuary@comcast.net failed.” There are three buttons “Retry”. “Enter New Password” and “Cancel”. None help. Supposedly Xfinity is moving its email op to Yahoo but I want to stay with Thunderbird which I have been using for over ten years. I haven’t received email on my ThinkPad for a week but I do get it on my iPad.

I don't think anybody has been yet forced to move from Xfinity to Yahoo, and I read mixed messages whether or not that move will be mandatory, and least for the near future. In any case, they are supposed to give us plenty of advance warning. So, I don't believe that's your problem.

Here are my working Comcast settings. How do they compare to yours?:

Incoming Server Type: IMAP Mail Server Incoming Server Name: imap.comcast.net Port: 993 User Name: <my email address> Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: Normal Password

SMTP Server Name: smtp.comcast.net Port: 465 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: Normal password User Name: <my email address>
