I'm unable to send or receive email

This is the same ssue I've been having recently. I'm unable to recieve or send email with Thunderbird. I've contacted Spectrum, my internet provider, and they determined that there is no problem with the connection.

  I believe that the issue is with Thunderbird. Please let me know what information I can provide, or what troubleshootng steps you recommend.

What is your evidence for not being able to send or receive?

Your earlier problem with viewing messages was simply that you had a quick filter set.
