My menu button only shows me a duplicate of the 'Customize' submenu & the 'Sign in to Sync' submenu bar

I can only use the menu by showing the menu toolbar but I would prefer to have my menu options under the 'open menu' button so that I can do away with the menu toolbar

You can set the Menu Toolbar to be hidden unless you call it.

Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar. Look for Show / Hide Toolbars at the bottom left.

There is also a Restore Defaults button at the bottom middle.
