Why force Firefox fans to download from Google play store?
This seems flagrant cronyism. Why in the world would would Firefox limit downloads to Google Play or "market places"? Come on guys! You must know how absurd this is! Not everyone wants Google sneaking around on their ROM. Offer the apk somewhere else!

Hello, No one is forcing you to download from Google play. There is lots of other channels for downloading Firefox for Android. Check it: Download Firefox for Android [ed. fixed link]

Hello, No one is forcing you to download from Google play. There is lots of other channels for downloading Firefox for Android. Check it: Download Firefox for Android [ed. fixed link]

Google play is the official source of downloading any apps for Android. May be that's why they have chosen google play as the default. And many cases user doesn't turn on permission to install app outside of the google play.
And it would all be well, if not for having to have Google Play indelibly burned/integrated with the Rom. That's a bit too far from freedom to consider reasonable. Linux uses repositories too, but not restrictively. I'll not rant though; there are those who know and those who, well, ...
