I can't cut copy or paste.
I'm trying to copy my answer for a discussion question for my online class and every time i try to copy my answer from the discussion question window(so I can put it into a word document) a pop up keeps showing up saying that "Copy/cut/paste is not available in Mozilla and Firefox. Do you want more information about this issue?" Yet I was able to copy and paste the prompt I keep getting. I don't want to copy/paste so I can cheat from the interenet, I'm trying to copy my own words and put them in a new document and can't.
It takes me to this site when I click yes https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Midas/Security_preferences
and I've followed the instructions but it still doesn't work. I'm no computer genius so I have no idea what to do.

Use keyboard shortcuts if the buttons on the web page or other methods aren't working.
- Copy: Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert (Mac: Command + C)
- Paste: Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert (Mac: Command + V)
- Cut: Ctrl+X or Shift+Delete (Mac: Command + X)

Some web pages send a signal that turns off the copy / paste commands. Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page. You want to check out an add-on called RightToClick
Cor-el...That worked perfectly. Now I just have to remember the keyboard shortcuts.
FredMcD That didnt make a difference but thank you for trying.
Thanks to both of you. I appreciate it.
You're welcome

Why doesn't this solution work any longer? https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Midas/Security_preferences
Ever since FF 29 I can no longer copy and paste in text editors. The user.js file is still intact. That's great that the alternative is the keyboard shortcuts but I find my right click to be more productive.
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
Clear the Cache
Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
and
Remove Cookies
Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy.
Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings.
There is a button on the right side called Show Cookies.
If there is still a problem,
Start Firefox in Safe Mode
While you are in safe mode; Firefox Options > Advanced > General.
Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Poke around safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart
Support for CAPS to allow web pages access to the clipboard via user.js via capability.policy prefs has been removed in Firefox 29, so this is no longer possible.
You can use add-ons like YesScript (blacklist) or NoScript (whitelist).

- [/questions/1000843] Is the user.js:capability.policy gone for good?
Unfortunately yesscript and noscript do not work.
No, that seem to apply to other cases where CAPS are involved.

FF29 is the worst thing to ever come out of an update. Someone needs to find and post a do-able fix. The people behind the update should be ashamed of themselves for removing all the workarounds everyone was using to maintain cut and paste. For anyone using Wordpress we are now condemned to taking our hand off the mouse to do the ridiculous Control V commands and similar. If FF is supposed to be democratic, why are there dictators overseeing updates. If I trust my firewall and am willing to take the risk, why do these autocratic FF overseers make it impossible for me to do that? It seems to me to be in opposition to what FF is supposed to be about. Very disappointed that this change will force me to switch to another browser to use Wordpress.
