My new laptop (still waiting for delivery) will have Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I've read on this site that it's okay to use Firefox, even though it's designed for 32 bit, but I'm not sure how to transfer my bookmarks.

I've taken a look at the sync add-on. Unfortunately, this has been removed by its developer.

Does anyone know how I can transfer the bookmarks to the new laptop?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, if you read through the process, you're sent to this page:

https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How%20to%20sync%20Firefox%20settings%20between%20computers

which in turn sends you to this add-on:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firefox-sync/

The add-on has been removed by its author. This brings the process to a dead end, because the add-on is needed to complete the process.

I am not recommending that you use sync for this. Simple use the export bookmarks feature on the old computer, and then import bookmarks on the new computer.

Sync is really only for when you are going to continue to run both machines and want to keep them in sync.

Co-rel, your pointers look promising. Will have to read through the links in more detail. Exhausted from Xmas right now. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks.
