I wish to find out if a messaged received into my junk mail purporting to be from Mozilla Firefox in genuine or is a phishing scam. If it is a phishing scam how can I report it please?

corinnne

A message from Mozilla Firefox arrived into my junk Hotmail account. There are some typos and poor grammar in the message sent.I am suspicious that is might be a phishing scam. The senders e-mail address is; no-reply@000193.updating.net Can I forward it onto you and you could investigate it for me please?

Based on the senders e-mail adress and the typos and the poor grammar this must be a scam. Especially if they send you a so called "important update" or promise you money. Mozilla would never do that.
If you have received the same message as the person in question 888349, then I think they try to send you a virus. https://support.mozilla.com/nl/questions/888349

Hello Knorretje thanks for your response.. I see other people have also received this scam e-mail. Can I forward it onto Firefox for them to investigate it and stop these unscrupulous people sending theses bogus e-mails out? If so how can I do this please? Thanks

According to this page, comment from scoobidiver, you can send an e-mail to abuse@mozilla.org
http://support.mozilla.com/nl/forums/contributors/707727?last=43197
I don't know if that works
Please report back to this forum your result.

Thanks again Knorretje I will forward my bogus/scam message onto abuse@mozilla.org and will then revert back to you as to what response I get(if any). Appreciate your help and support. Regards

I too have similar purporting to come from Mozilla Firefox but in reality: Mozilla Firefox [no-reply@000193.updating.net] And contains a link: ( NB: DON'T USE THIS LINK) firefox-7.0.1

Dear Corrinne,

Thanks for reporting this to us. This is indeed a scam and has nothing to do with Mozilla or Firefox. Please do not go to the URLs mentioned in the email.

I will forward this email to our security and legal teams for further action.

Thanks for using Firefox, you can always get a copy from http://mozilla.org/

Regards,
