Every time I launch Firefox, multiple web sites are opening along with the start page. How can I stop this from happening?

When ever i launch the Firefox browser, two more tabs start to open up along with the start page (i.e. my home page), which is very irritating. The tabs with the following URL start to open: 

 1). http://flashvideodownloader.org/welcome-firefox.php
 2). http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/5.0/whatsnew/

Now my question is, how can i stop this from happening and load only the home page at the start?
