What have I done to my db to cause this error?

Error: ERROR addons.xpi: SQL error 8: attempt to write a readonly database Source File: resource://gre/modules/XPIProvider.jsm Line: 3407

Renaming (i.e. recreating) the places.sqlite file doesn't help. History and bookmarks are disabled on both Firefox and Chrome but, oddly, not Konqueror.

Too strange. That error has gone away, but Firefox is still broken. The following error is now the first error in the log (it used to be 2nd).

Error: Failed to init microsummary service:[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80570016 (NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE)[nsIJSCID.getService]" nsresult: "0x80570016 (NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: resource://gre/components/nsMicrosummaryService.js :: MicrosummaryService :: line 94" data: no] Source File: chrome://browser/content/browser.js Line: 6900

History and bookmarks are still disabled and every time I start Firefox it complains about interference from some other process, even if Firefox is the 1st thing after a reboot.
