Firefox does not shut down (end process) after closing the browser, even after time has elapsed to allow for "file cleaning" and such. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, Firefox 3.6.3, and a few plugins, a listed under the "installed plugins" area.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== FF 3.0 or thereabouts

the-edmeister - none of those seem to apply here. I've gone so far as disabling ALL my current plugins, and no dice. None of the other conditions apply in terms of software, anti-virus, bookmark deletion, and my java is at the latest revision.

I have the same problem. Unfortunately, I'm starting to use Internet Explorer more because this problem has become so annoying. If you are running a video when you close Firefox, it keeps running the video--you can hear it, but of course you can't get to it, so you have to start up the task manager to kill it.
