That's strange -- unless you are using a VPN. A VPN service can route your requests through a server somewhere else in the world.

Assuming you don't use a VPN or other proxy that routes your requests through a remote server, then your IP address is determined by your service provider.

When I look up the address listed in the screenshot (starting with 2605:6440:2000:2001) on https://www.iplocation.net/ip-lookup, six sources point to Illinois and one points to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. What are the odds that the website is using that bad data?

I don't know whether there is a way to switch your IPv6 IP address -- this is the newer addressing method that generates those huge IP addresses -- back to an IPv4 address.
