How to rearrange bookmarks in the Firefox Sidebar ?

When I do a search in the Sidebar, the bookmarks always appear to be in same order as they are in the main menu with the newest at the bottom of the list.

However I just added 4 new ones & 3 are at the bottom but 1 is at the top in the Sidebar. Yet all are at the bottom in the main menu. I’d like to keep all 4 grouped together but cannot drag any of them into place.

I deleted & re-saved the bookmarks. When saving, the first one added appears at the top of the Sidebar search list & the other 3 at the bottom.

Somewhere along the way, when I edited a couple of the names the top one swapped places with one of the bottom 3 in the Sidebar. Yet they’re all in their original order at the bottom of the main menu.

Any idea why the Sidebar is changing the order?

If you do a search then the results can appear in any order depending on what query is used to scan the places.sqlite database. Since this is a list that shows results, there is no way to reorder items in this list. If they are all stored in the same folder then you should see them in their natural order if you open this folder instead of doing a search.
