Quick Filter Bar - Opening Global Search tab

Since one of the latest updates, the Quick Filter Bar seems to have changed the behaviour. Now sometimes when it does not find any matching messages with the text on the filter the Global Search tab automatically opens. There are times that I am pretty sure the text on the filter matches some messages on the folder but it does not show any and opens the Global Search tab. Does anybody know if this is a sort of new feature\option that I can disable?

Here, with TB 91, if I enter a string in the QFB, then select a filter button, the results are shown. If there are no results, the Global Search tab doesn't open automatically, but it does if I press Enter.
