Even clicking on my question on this forum crashes…

FF57.0.1 is the version you should use not beta versions. That way it can be isolated to where the problem is.

Also, all the opened tabs, if I leave them for a couple of minutes, when I activate them, reload.

Crash Reason EXC_BAD_ACCESS / KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS

Basically since on a Mac can not update Video Card Drivers but suggest you try.

Not a lot on this in the last years.

Please uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) what ever the Mac is (do not do Macs) Then restart system. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.1 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Hi, thanks for trying. But this didn't work… Some pages crash from the start (Amazon), others, later on (Wikipedia, French public radio)…

You can check in Font Book for font issues like corrupted and duplicate fonts.

• close and restart Firefox to make the change effective.

If '1' still doesn't have effect then try '0' to disable the sandbox.

If this didn't work then undo/reverse the change and reset the pref via the right-click context menu to the default value.

Thanks, but I still get tabs crashing, and it also seems now pages won't even try to load. I now also get this message:

"The connection has timed out"…

You can check for sandbox security related issues.

You can set this pref to 2 or 1 on the about:config page to lower the sandbox security setting.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

Hi again you already gave me the advice about the sandbox config, cor-el… and the problems occur whatever the version of firefox. Pages still crash or won't open.

Knowing the amount of ram would help.

The Sandbox stuff was to do with your system only, usually never give that out.

You could try this please : Go the Menu then Tools --> Options --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 0 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. TRY 2 (yes another but diff 2) Restart Firefox after making these changes please.

there is not correspondent pathway. In my tools menu, there is only "downloads, add-ons, sync, web developer and page info".

Or you're talking about the prefs, and there is only one "Performance" box: "use recommended performance settings". Once that is unchecked, all I get is "use hardware acceleration when available", with a "content process limit" (set at 4) and nothing else. Nothing that resembles what you mention.

New problem by the way: many pages are considered "dangerous" and need me to confirm the certificate etc. We're talking about mainstream pages, nothing underground or "dark"…

You can click the "Advanced" button to expand this section and show extra details. If the certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided (SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER) then click the blue error message to expand this section and show the certificate chain. You can click "Copy text to clipboard" and paste this base64 encoded certificate chain text in a reply. That will allow us to details like the issuer of the certificate.

• always be cautious when you get an 'Untrusted' error message
• never create a permanent exception without investigating the cause and only use this to inspect the certificate

This is all I get in the "performance" section:

Nothing else expands, and I don't get the message you mention.
