I keep trying to import my bookmarks from my old Windows 7 Professional PC (64-bit). I get script errors and the process never completes. I have been able to do this in the past and saved the file on my NAS drive that communicates with the new PC perfectly. How can I remedy this?

What does the error say? Also are you using the Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks menu?

If you get an error that the script is unresponsive, try continuing it. According to various user reports, this dialog can appear once or twice for very large files before Firefox eventually completes the import/restore.

If that still doesn't work, you might be able to import the old Firefox bookmarks to IE Favorites, and then import the IE Favorites.

What is the font size of this file?

If it has a lot of bookmarks then it can take more time.

You can temporarily set dom.max_chrome_script_run_time to a higher value like 1000 or 10000 (default is 20 seconds) to give Firefox more time to process the file. Do not forget to reset the pref after Firefox has finished importing bookmarks.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
