Hi, I know this is something I must have done but my minimize, maximize and close tabs on Thunder bird have disappeared. I have search everywhere and can't see what I might have done or how I can return them.

Maybe the Title bar is not showing ?

Try this:

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General tab
  • Click on 'Config Editor' button
  • it will tell you to be careful :)
  • In top search type: title
  • look for this line: mail.tabs.drawInTitlebar; Vlaue = false
  • If Value = 'True', double click on the line to toggle the 'True' to 'False'
  • close Config Editor window - top right X
  • click on OK to save and close Options

Can you see the 'Menu Bar' - File | Edit | View etc ?

enable if you cannot see it:

  • 3bar menu icon > Options > Select : menu Bar.

Also please check if this is being caused by a theme/addon.

  • Help > Restart with Addons disabled.

Please report back on results after ensuring Menu Bar and Title Bar are showing and you have tested in Safe Mode.

Thank you Toad Hall. While I was starting to use the first option re:tools- Options-advanced etc. I notice that I could restart with out the add-ons that you mentioned in the second choice for fixing the problem and i thought I would try it. It worked.
