Pressing Enter on Download dialog starts another download (OSX Yosemite)
Since I upgraded to Yosemite (OSX 10.10, running FF 33.0.3), when I download a file and press Enter to save to Downloads, this starts another download of the same file (while also saving the original file). This didn't use to happen on Mavericks, so I'm hoping there's an easy fix for it. Any ideas much appreciated.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;
Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.
Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?
Then restart.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the problem persists even in Safe Mode, with hardware acceleration disabled.
Is this not a common issue?
Do you mean that you get two copies of the file in two different locations?
Also make sure that anti-virus or other security software isn't causing this issue.
No, what happens when I press Enter (with the download dialog focused) to save a file in any folder, the file saves, but another download dialog pops up immediately. It looks like Enter is activating ("clicking") the link to the file again, even though the main browser window doesn't have focus.
I'm not running any antivirus software or the like and this problem only started when I upgraded to Yosemite.
Yosemite = screen saver ? Disable it for a bit, then try Firefox. (Hmm . . . Looks interesting.)
No luck, I'm afraid :( The problem persists.
Okay, I am rolling up my sleeves.
Start your Computer in safe mode. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites.

Thanks for your help FredMcD!
I've got FileVault enabled and I'd have to disable it before I can boot into safe mode, so before I do that (which could take quite a while), I might keep on hopefully tinkering with various things. I doubt they'll work, so I'll let you know how the safe mode things goes, eventually :)
Oh, I see. Thanks cor-el.
