Adding old bookmarks to my current ones?

Hi all,

I bought a new PC abroad whilst travelling this year and used it for a good 6 months. Now I'm back home, I want to move all of the bookmarks I had on my old laptop onto my new one.

However, I don't want to lose the new ones I've created, so I'm worried about simply syncing, in case the new files are overwritten. Will this happen? Or is there another way? Am I better off just doing it manually?

Any help here is much appreciated! :)

Export your bookmarks in HTML format from the older device, and then Import that HTML file into Firefox on the newer device.

This HTML file method will append the bookmarks that are on the newer device, but the downside is that Tags data won't be included, if you are using the Tags feature for your bookmarks on the old device.

If it helps, my new laptop is running Windows 8.1 and my old one is on XP home.
