How do I stop the "account verified" tab and the "firefox sync" tab from loading when I start Firefox ?

I signed up for the "sync now" service but I haven't used it yet. When I start Firefox my home tab opens plus an "account verified" tab and a "firefox sync" tab. How do I stop these tabs from opening.

You can check the home page setting:

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: Home page

Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.
