When opening a new page in Firefox I am shown a few widgets.

It shows the time of sports events and different timezones. But it shows this in a non-local time format - the 12 hour format (so it says 06:00 PM instead of 18:00).

In about:config I found a setting called "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.widgets.clocks.hourFormat" but what are the acceptable formats to use here? It's not a boolean value, and by default nothing is there. I tried writing 24, HH:mm, and some other things, but didn't notice a difference.

Been using Thunderbird for a number of years but recently the SSD on my laptop became corrupted and I had to buy a new one and install TB and restore my profiles from a backup.

I have two accounts and switch between them with Profile Manager.

The new laptop is an ASUS Vivobook with Win 11 Home and although TB runs ok the first time, if I close the current session and try to open the other account, nothing happens when I click on TB icon on the taskbar. IF I wait for around 5 minutes then it will run

Checked in Task Manager and cant see any instances of TB running, so any thoughts on what's wrong. Does not matter which order I open the accounts.

I'm receiving threats & reports of virus's, reports of me watching porn? That's SICK! I WOULD NEVER do that! I had it happen over a year ago, traced it back to a Guardi something. They may have come back! They are disruptive, aggressive & cruel! I'm an 86 yo, disabled widow & I am very concerned!

I was attempting to use Thunderbird Restore Tool to merge multiple Thunderbird profiles. Before I started, I copied the existing Thunderbird profile to a safe location where it has remained undisturbed. The Thunderbird Restore Tool did not produce the desired results, but that is a story for another day. I tried copying the saved profile back to C:\User\Tom Hayden\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles. I then started Thunderbird. It returned something very close to "Your profile file is inaccessible or corrupted". After some research, I edited the profiles.ini to point to the old profile file. Thunderbird would not start. I tried multiple iterations of thunderbird - p to run the profile manager. I was, eventually, able to get thunderbird to start and read the most recent e-mails from the server. However, it would not load any of the old e-mails from the old profile. I went to the profile thunderbird is currently using. Under ...\thunderbird\profile\pd785tbj.Default_User\Mail I found Local Folders-1 and pop3.airmail.net. Under pop3.airmail.net I can see the directory structure I used for my old e-mail. Everything appears to be present and in place. No matter what I do, Thunderbird will not read/load those e-mails. There is also an ImapMail directory with mail.airmail.net. Under it is a directory structure that appears to be what is actually showing up in Thunderbird. How do I restore/reload/recover/whatever the old e-mails in pop3.airmail.net? Please make your answer as explicit as possible.

Hi I tried to google this but as you can guess that was a exercise in futility.

So I installed thunderbird via flatpac as suggested by the main website

I went to account add a account entered my email and password.

Clicked continue twice setup filled in the info and got a error saying

Authentication error.

Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password.

now i know both are correct as i logged in vai firefox and checked both excepted.

so I tried to google the settings of incoming and outgoing 4 out of 5 pages i found where set as the pc has set it.

at a loss now guys no clue what to do any help would be appreciated.

Sync does not transfer settings; preferences, extensions, etc. on mobile and there does not seem to be a way to do so at all. Terrible user experience setting up a new phone with Firefox.

I'm getting "Thunderbird can't connect to the server" message, so I can't download messages. However, a message or two will finally download 1-2 hours later.

Same problem on 2 laptops, both running Windows 11. But I know my emails are coming in as I can view them via Spectrum webmail. So the problem isn't the Spectrum servers.

I've logged out and back into Thunderbird, and have re-booted my laptops. No luck. What to do?

Also, is there a place to report problems directly to Thunderbird?

I tried the Toolbar fixes in this forum and got the menu to show up, thank you. (Any menu in Compose mode had disappeared. Actually, both Firefox and Thunderbird icons on desktop and Taskbar had disappeared as well, and I had to reinstate shortcuts. This may or may not be pertinent.)

But when I try to add "Send" to the menu, using customize, the "Send" icon is nowhere to be found as an option, so I cannot add it to the Toolbar in Composition mode. "Send" is grayed out in all bold textmenus. If I use Ctrl-Enter, message does get sent. Using Windows 10, still. Perhaps this is an upgrade issue?

You installed without my permission the Microsoft web app. That is spyware that has cost you this user. I will uninstall Firefox, tell everyone I know what you 'security-minded' liars are really doing to us. I belong to a gaming club with hundreds of members and by tonight they will all know not to trust Firefox. You really have some nerve teaming up with that nasty organization. My tabs from a Windows 10 PC were imported to Firefox running on my Mac Studio ( OS is Tahoe ver 26.2). How do I easily recover these tabs and prevent this behavior in the future? Note: I have copied previous versions of the Firefox profiles files to my active profiles folder, but this does not bring back the lost tabs.

About 2 months ago, I had a very useful exchange with Lin regarding backing up my Thunderbird data; I wanted to look at the exchange again, since I apparently failed to save it externally; Is there a way to access that exchange?

I just recently installed the VPN on Firefox. It hadn't shown up because of my privacy settings. It works fine except for the United States connection. When I choose the other countries, it works fine, but when I choose United States, it still shows Japan (where I live). It still shows Japan, but it does have an effect. It changes it to Tokyo, where I don't live. So, the vpn is having some effect, but it is just not connecting to the United States. Why is that?
