Hello all,

I'm having a problem with Firefox displaying facebook pages.

First I thought it could be something related to the character encoding but it is only related to some parts of a message or page. It appears to be related to the links. They show up in strange characters, like in a foreign language.

Also with thunderbird same problem.

Here are print screens:

Chosen solution

First, update Firefox. Update Firefox to the latest release.

Then, try to reset Firefox. Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings. This simple step will eliminate many Firefox problems with only one click.

A few other basic trouble shooting things you can try is this: Run all Windows Updates, install all needed service packs, etc.

Update your graphics driver (Firefox uses your graphics card for some rendering, and an out of date graphics card driver can cause problems. Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL

Update all your plugins (Flash, Java, etc.): http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/.

Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. http://www.malwarebytes.org/. This helps check that there are no viruses on your computer causing issues. You can uninstall this program after you clean off any infections.

That looks like a problem with one of the fonts that Firefox doesn't display properly as bold.

Thank you both. I made what Tylerdowner suggested and solved the problem for Firefox. :)

Unfortunatly the notification emails in thunderbird still have headers that appear as garbage and also the add-ons page remains with the same garbage.

Did you check for problems with the fonts?

You have to find out which font is corrupted and reinstall the font.
