Erratic behavior following IObit Advanced System Care 5 Computer Clean-up

Have used Firefox for years w/o problems. Currently using an HP laptop /w a Win7 Pro 64 bit OS. Downloaded and ran IObit ASC5 and immediately began having problems /w Firefox (subsequently found out that Firefox is not compatible /w IObit from info. on this site.) Screens would not display properly and essentially they had no functionality (Abnormal text display, coding visible, no graphics or radio buttons etc.) Sometimes the [ctrl]+F5 key sequence (bypassing the cache) would generate a normal screen, sometimes not. Even on normally appearing screens some of the link and radio buttons would not work properly or not at all. Running Firefox on an identical computer /w same OS does not exhibit any of the problems above.

I suspect that some of these problems have been caused by ASC5's temporary file removal process but have no objective basis for that. Since the program defrags. the disk, works on the registry and much more, hard for me to tell what it may have affected. Anyone have any ideas on how to repair the damage? Thanks in advance, drno47

This is not an issue with Firefox but rather with the software installed, in this case ASC5. I personally stay away from this software as I have had similar problems occur after the program modified registry settings, etc. I was able to fix such problems by using the undo changes/restore function built into ASC5's software which restored to previous change state & corrected the issue. You may want to give this a try.

Dbellca82: Thanks very much for your suggestion! Couldn't agree more - this isn't a Firefox problem but an ASC5 incompatibility. I couldn't find where ASC5 set a restore point for anything except the registry and I was able to undo it's changes. Am I missing the undo changes/restore function somewhere else in ASC5? My gut feeling is that some of the temporary files that it removes in it's clean-up process are necessary for Firefox to operate correctly (i.e screen buffers etc. - I know it removes the web history.) If so, this might be the basis for my problems but that is pure speculation. I still have problems with improper screen display and button functionality but they seem to be disappearing as I re-visit sites that I have bypassed the cache with the [ctrl] + F5 key sequence previously.
