downloads show in the download window but do not stay there after downloading. how do I fix this?

with v4 Firefox , the download window appears during downloads but the files do not remain available in the download window once they complete. I need to go to the download folder to access downloads. on all my other PC's these files remain accessible in the download window. Using Windows 7 Thanks

Tools > Options > Privacy > History > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" > "Remember download history"
