I keep getting a message that states I have typed ww.mozilla.org and not www. I have checked everywhere and cannot find this typo, nor can I open websites! help asap...working on dissertation

You can check the fixup prefs on the about:config page and make sure that they have the default value and do not show as bold (user set).

browser.fixup.alternate.enabled (true)
browser.fixup.alternate.prefix (www.)
browser.fixup.alternate.suffix (.com)

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
