I am trying to dowload the latest version, but all I get is a window "this is a binary file" save or cancel what am I doing wrong?

Save the file to your computer, then run the file that you just downloaded to install it.

You can also use the built-in update feature of Firefox. In the Help menu select "Check for updates".
