how can I get rid of starred, important & all mail folders

jan.m.elliott44

I don't require the starred, important and ALL mail folders, I have enough of my own. It clutters up my screen.

Chosen Solution

A Gmail account? highlight the account in folder pane, rightclick and select the subscribe link and untick any undesired folders

Many thanks, worked great. (Subscribe didn't suggest anything useful!) Jan

If you logon to the gmail webmail account in Settings under 'Labels' tab uncheck/deselect 'show in imap', so they will never show up in the Subscribe list. It will also help to ensure the 'All Mail' folder does not get accidentally added as it is the default used by Gmail for anything archived (any email with no labels).
