Thunderbird Freezes

Thunderbird (current version) freezes each time an email is closed and when it does so, it freezes the entire computer. Computer: MacBook Pro 16"; Tahoe 26.2. The freeze last for 2-5 seconds before it releases.

Try the simplest troubleshoot diagnostic test and run Thunderbird in "troubleshoot mode" : press the Alt (Option) key and launch Thunderbird from its Dock icon...

Entering into "troubleshoot mode" did nothing for this issue. (This happened after upgrading to 26.2). It still lags a few seconds after closing an email window. Computer: MacBook Pro 13"; Tahoe 26.2

Edit: One thing I just discovered is that if you click a green "read/unread" dot immediately after closing the email window, the delay goes away in Thunderbird, but I am unable to click outside the software for a few seconds. Sometimes I am able to click above Thunderbird, outside the main window, but not to the side of Thunderbird's main window. This sometimes depends on where on the screen the main window is positioned. It is quite odd behavior.

There seems to be a window-focus bug in the macOS 26.2 update https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2007021

The reporter of that bug has commented that "MacOS 26.3 seemes to have solved this problem for me."
