Just to clarify, it is YOUR server, not Thunderbird's. Maybe if you post complete error message and a screenshot of your SMTP server settings pane, some suggestions will be forthcoming. I also suggest, if this is a web-hosted account, that you recheck on cpanel to see if settings have changed (as a person who has had several web-hosted email accounts, I can attest that these sometimes have changed.) Thank you.
