can't export bookmarks

Trying to export bookmarks, Done this more than once, go through all the steps and when you try to save it gives error message "there are no more files" and you have a button that says "OK". Interesting point though it does the same thing when trying to exports my address books in t-bird also. Machine is ASUS U50F older i3.
