I get "sec_error_unknown_issuer" when I go to sites like google, although I have not changed any of my settings prior to this starting 12 hours ago.

Chosen solution

thanks, that did work :)) so it appears that your kaspersky antivirus solution is intercepting encrypted connections, which looks like a man-in-the-middle attack for firefox. you could go into the kaspersky settings > additional > network settings and try to disable the scanning of encrypted connections there. alternatively you could also try to import the kaspersky certificate into firefox like described by another user at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1026631#answer-650916 or contact kaspersky's support to get their software working.

hi, in order to know what's going on we probably need more information about the issuer of the failing certificate. please proceed like this: enter chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul into the location bar, and in the page that opens, set the server location to "https://www.google.com" in order to retrieve and view the certificate. then please report back with the data of the issued by section of the certificate viewer. thank you!

The response I get it "Unknown Identity".

do you have any ms family protection features enabled for this account - if so, please try to turn them off.

I don't think there is any MS Family protection features enabled. And if there were, nothing has been changed to cause the website to not come up in the last 24 hours.

thnak, you unfortunately it appears that the site had a glitch while uploading the screenshot, so enlarging doesn't work. can you try attaching it again or else type in what's showing up in the issued by section.

reposting the screen cap. Please let me know if this does not work.

Ok, that worked. I had to re-import the certificate.

That was annoying.
