New laptop. Took it to the Geek Squad to move the data from my wife's old computer to new. They had me sign in to Windows on the new machine and perform the setup steps, then took it and the old computer to do the data transfer. The issue is that the returned new computer had my MS profile on it but my wife's mail under that profile.

To try to correct this, I set up my wife's profile on the new laptop and my thought was to export the email from my MS account's TB data to a public folder, turn off TB and sign off my MS profile, sign back on to my wife's MS profile, start TB and import the zip file in the public folder. However, it tells me the folder is too large and I must unzip and import from the extracted folder. Windows Explorer won't let me unzip the file saying it's not a valid zip file. Ideas?

Thanks!

Copies not placed because of "network or file access errors"

I have been using Thunderbird for years for email accounts with Comcast (Xfinity), Yahoo, and gmail. Yesterday, I started having a problem with my Comcast accounts - when I sent a message, it went out, but I got an error message (attached) saying it couldn't save a copy to the Sent folder. Sending messages from my Yahoo account works fine. Sending messages from my gmail accounts, I get _two_ copies in the Sent folder (this is new).

I tried restarting my PC, and that didn't help. I tried Troubleshoot Mode, but that didn't help. I tried reinstalling Thunderbird, and that seemed to fix it, but then it started again. I tried compacting the folders, and that seemed to fix it, but then it started again.

I can connect to the Comast/Xfinity server fine, and things work. If I send an email from the server, a copy goes in the Sent file, and it then shows up in the Sent folder on my desktop. But emails that I send from the desktop don't show up in the Sent folder.

I am using a Dell XPS8950 with Windows 11.

Thank you for your help.

I want Thunderbird to stop marking everything I delete as having been read. The way it works now, if I accidentally delete mail that I haven't read yet it's much more difficult to find it when everything is marked read even when it wasn't. I searched everywhere and haven't come up with a solution for this. It was reported as a bug years ago and was never fixed.

Hi, I have two email accounts configured to Thunderbird. One stopped receiving emails this week. When I open TB, it's asking password for the account.

Then it shows at the screen bottom xxx@yyy.zz: Host contacted, sending login information.

then after a moment, a popup window says

Login to account "xxx@yyy.zz" failed Login to gamma.yyy.zz with username xxx failed.

Sending emails works ok.

Any ideas ? Possibly a corrupted profile ?

Best regards, Jarmo

Have tried to remove it by unchecking box in Account Settings, Copies and Folders, this does not work . I have lost everything in Inbox, and Sent. Brilliant Result from something I do not need and did not set up.

Dear Thunderbird support team, I am for a few days unable to log into my account, because the program doesn´t recognize the password I set for the imap.wolrdserver.net. It shows the message in attachment. I changed the password for my account and the imap.worldserver.net with my email provider, however it did not work.

Do you have another idea how to fix this? Thank you in advance. Kind regards Elora Helmke
