I have autoconfig.js set up to run my own js file, see below. The intention is to change the keyboard shortcuts (shame that it's so difficult😃). It worked until a few weeks ago. Now it only partly works. C+J is fine. The other two succeed in deleting the existing command, and the shortcut key does nothing. Any ideas please?

// C+J = open downloads var element = document.getElementById('key_openDownloads'); if (element) {

 element.setAttribute('key', 'j');
 element.setAttribute('modifiers', 'accel');

}

// C+D = Duplicate tab var element = document.getElementById('addBookmarkAsKb'); if (element) {

 element.removeAttribute('command');
 element.setAttribute('oncommand', "duplicateTabIn(gBrowser.selectedTab, 'tab')");

}

// CS+N = move tab to new window var element = document.getElementById('key_undoCloseWindow'); if (element) {

 element.removeAttribute('command');
 element.setAttribute('oncommand', 'gBrowser.replaceTabsWithWindow(gBrowser.selectedTab)');

}

Hello everyone, i have Linux/Ubuntu software with Firefox browser and for 5 months it has not asked me to update, with it's pop up message. Now it is urgently asking me to update, i have followed the directions given in order to download the latest Firefox version as instructed but with no success. I am downloading it, but it doesn't have an instruction to "run" it. As a consequence, my system is getting slower and slower and i am afraid it will crush! Any ideas? Sooooos!!!

I am using Firefox v140.0.1 Snap on Kubuntu 25.04, Kernel 6.14. Since the Firefox update in the past couple days, the mouse cursor has started appearing huge and slightly blurry (as though the image is scaled up) in Firefox and nowhere else. The size is visually annoying, and occasionally difficult to know exactly where I'm clicking (trying to move the caret in a text box for example). It also appears to be a different style from the main desktop cursor, the shape and color are ever so slightly different, but this may already have been the case and I simply didn't notice because of the previously small size. Firefox doesn't have its own built in cursor settings that I can find, nor obey the system cursor settings. I have a high DPI display so perhaps it is being over-compensated for? e.g. both the system and Firefox are scaling the cursor up, assuming the other hasn't done it already, resulting in a cursor that's too big.

Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue

Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to nrega.nic.in because this website requires a secure connection.

What can you do about it?

nrega.nic.in has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.

Probably nothing, since it’s likely there’s a problem with the site itself.

There are times that I use the screenshot tool on X.com and the filename it saves to is WAY too long. Sometimes it tries to use the entire content of the post as the filename. I see this effect in the title bar as well. Is there a way to change it so it only uses a date/timestamp and nothing else? Attached is an example of this extremely long naming. Hi guys,

I connected my private crypto wallet to a fraudulent OKX scammer wallet extension, downloaded from your Firefox store couple of weeks ago. I deleted the wallet after I realized it's a scam but the scammers already drained my entire wallet afterwards, I lost approx. 14,000 USD.

I saw this warning too late: https://t.co/wSQv696SvM

Do you guys have any idea, where I can report this case or what I can do? I mean, I am quite sure that I am not the only one affected by this scam.

Thanks Marc

      1. 🔷 **Issue Summary:**

While using Firefox under normal conditions, the system **freezes completely** at random times. The desktop environment becomes unresponsive, requiring a hard reboot to recover. The issue typically occurs during heavier browsing sessions (e.g., video playback or graphics-heavy websites).

System logs (`dmesg` and `journalctl`) show **AMDGPU virtual memory protection faults**, indicating a GPU-related issue triggered during Firefox usage.

---

      1. 🔷 **Log Snippet:**

```text amdgpu 0000:03:00.0: amdgpu: VM_L2_PROTECTION_FAULT_STATUS:0x00641051 Faulty UTCL2 client ID: TCP (0x8) PERMISSION_FAULTS: 0x5 [gfxhub0] retry page fault (src_id:0 ring:0 vmid:6 pasid:32776, for process RDD Process pid XXXX thread firefox-bi:cs0 pid XXXX) ring gfx_low timeout, but soft recovered ```
---
      1. 🔷 **System Information:**
  • **OS:** Linux Mint 22.1 x86\_64 (based on Ubuntu)
  • **Kernel:** (e.g., `5.15.0-xxx-generic`) ← *replace with actual kernel version*
  • **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 5700U with Radeon Graphics
  • **GPU:** AMD ATI 03:00.0 Lucienne (integrated)
  • **Firefox Version:** (e.g., 126.0) ← *replace with actual version*
---
      1. 🔷 **Steps to Reproduce:**
1. Open Firefox and browse modern websites (YouTube, media-rich content). 2. Use the browser for several minutes (random trigger). 3. Suddenly, the system UI becomes frozen and unusable. 4. Logs show AMDGPU VM fault and `gfx ring timeout`.
---
      1. 🔷 **Expected Behavior:**
System should remain stable during normal browser usage, especially with an officially supported AMD APU.
---
      1. 🔷 **Actual Behavior:**
GPU driver crashes causing total system freeze, likely triggered by hardware acceleration and memory permission faults inside the amdgpu driver stack.
Firefox screws up showing .pdfs. The first view is fine but scrolling seems to overprint the first view without erasing it, if that makes sense, sorta like a double exposure. I can't get a screen cap either, which might just mean it's not a firefox issue at all, but I can view and screen cap .pdfs from any other application. I'm running Debian 12 up to date. When I need to view a .pdf I use Chromium, but I do prefer Firefox.
In the last few days, after some minutes of usage, parts of Firefox become unclickable:
- I can still click on tabs to change tabs. - When hovering over the cross button to close a tab, it changes appearance as it should. Clicking the button does nothing. Ctrl+w still closes the button. - Clicking on the address bar does nothing. - Cannot click on back, forward, refresh buttons. - Cannot click on any add-ons. - Cannot click on preferences. - Can click on the button to open a new tab. There, I can enter an address. Once the page has loaded, address bar becomes unclickable again. - Bookmarks toolbar is still working as expected. - Keyboard shortcuts (ctrl+t, ctrl-w, ctrl-l) still work as expected.
I'm running ``` Mozilla Firefox 138.0 20250428130755 20250428130755 ```
on Manjaro 25.0.1 with GNOME 48
