Why won't Firefox allow Hootsuite to display users' profile icons?

more options

Firefox has been my preferred browser for years, but I have switched over to Chrome now because of certain things that Firefox suddenly will not do anymore that Chrome has no problem with. For instance, when I log into Hootsuite to handle social media for work, Firefox appears to block and prevent user icons and profile pics from displaying properly, showing just empty gray boxes in their places instead. My best guess as to what's causing this has been to deactivate Adblock, but doing so has no effect. @HootSuite_Help has tried to help me by suggesting I do things like delete Hootsuite's cache, but nothing works on their end. Since Hootsuite works perfectly fine on Chrome, it's obvious that this is a Firefox issue.

Any idea how I can fix this? I'd really love to be able to use Firefox all the time since Firefox has a MUCH superior system in place for organizing bookmarks than Chrome does.

In your testing, did you try Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?

Yes! That brought the icons back. Not sure which add-on could be causing the problem, though. ActiveGS, Adblock Plus, Disconnect, and FBSecure look to be the most likely suspects...

Just tried disabling Disconnect first and that worked. I wonder if there's a way that I can just switch it off for Hootsuite only then...

The latest version of Disconnect allows you to whitelist sites, so after downloading that and whitelisting Hootsuite, problem solved!

Thanks for helping me get there, jscher2000!

Great detective work!
