The Firefox button (in Windows, orange; during Private Browsing changes to purple) shows by default only in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

You can turn the Firefox button on in XP:

  • Menu Bar checked = Menu Bar on, Firefox button off
  • Menu Bar un-checked = Menu Bar off, Firefox button on
  • Turn Menu Bar on/off, click Menu Bar to check/un-check by doing one of the following:
    • using the Menu Bar: View > Toolbars
    • using Firefox button: Firefox button > Options > Toolbar Layout
    • right-click an empty space (at the end of the tab bar)
    • this toggles (automatically checks/un-checks) Menu Bar: HOLD down the ALT key while pressing the keyboard letters VTM

To turn the Menu Bar on temporarily, press the ALT key or the F10 key and make selections from the Menu Bar.

By your answer I undestand that Firefox is not suitable for windows XP.There should be a warning telling us that before we make the installation.

Firefox runs great on XP. I answered your question and am posting this reply on a system running XP SP3. What gave you that impression? Do not try "reading between the lines" because there is nothing there. My answer was very straight-forward.
