Addon Icons disappear from where I put them

I have had this problem for year and with many versions of Firefox. I install addons and when I customize and place the icons for the addons in the bar at the top of my browser, I sometimes find some or all are missing and I have to go to customize again and re drag them into place again.

Why does this happen and is there a way to stop this happening?

Go to View | Toolbars | Customize. A panel will open. While that's open, you can drag and drop elements to wherever you wish.

You can also remove what you don't want by dragging them into that panel. Similarly, you can drag from the panel to add new buttons, toolbars etc.

Xircal, Thank you for replying but I already know that! What I mean is sometimes I open my Firefox and they have disappeared from where I put them. I just want it whereas I can set out my icons where I want them for them to stay there and not disappear now and again.

Not sure if it helps but I have had this problem since updating to FF4 and again when I updated to FF4.0.1. The disappearing icons act is random. I have always been able to put up the FireFTP icon but this last redo will not let that icon settle on the menu bar ( where all my other icons are ). Running Windows7.
