How can I put a shortcut for a web page on my "desktop" Android 2.2

I want to go to a particular web page in Firefox 4 by clicking on an icon on one of the "Home" pages on my Samsung Captivate running Android 2.2. Just like on my PC. I did this earlier in Android 2.1 with the built in browser, but can't even remember how I did that.

Firefox does not yet have the ability to add links to the home screen on Android, though we are actively working on adding that feature.

For now, you can use the default Android browser to add links to the home screen:

  1. In the default Browser app, open the "Bookmarks" list.
  2. Press-and-hold on a bookmark.
  3. Choose "Add shortcut to Home."

Then when you tap on the shortcut on the home screen, Android should open it in your default browser (or offer you a choice of browsers to open it).

Great. I can open it in the default Android browser or the Firefox browser. The Firefox browser doesn't remember my username or password (this is a Facebook page) but the default browser does. I have reput in the username and password a few too many times in the Firefox browser and I'm tired of doing that. :-)

Thanks.
