I want to open my bookmarks on the toolbar to a new tab. But when I click it, it replaces the webside I am browsing not to a new tab. How would I achieve this? Besides, I don't want to drag the icons. What I want is simply click it. Thank you.

A middle-click on the bookmark should open it in a new tab. Alternatively there are quite a few tab related add-ons that give you the option to open bookmarks in a new tab. Some examples are:
