Every time I open Firefox, a security warning pops up about Firefox asking to modify my hard drive. If I select no, I am unable to open Firefox; however, I am concerned that this will pose a security issue down the road. How do I fix this?

Same issue. Just started this week - July 26. Tried reinstalling but still has it. Removed themes. Still has it.

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.

Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties". In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.

You also need to check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.

If you can't make the changes then you need to start Windows Explorer as Administrator.

I had the problem of the UAC warning but Firefox would open whether I chose yes or no. The warning message popping up every time I opened Firefox was driving me nuts. I finally found an answer on how to disable this warning message at http://www.technologyquestions.com/technology/windows-7/470472-firefox-uac.html. Good luck.
