How do I get rid of "Widgets" on my desk top?

I do not care to see the "widgits" on my desktop opening page. It appeared a few days ago. I do not want to be obligated to its appearance there. A User of FoxFire should be given the opportunity to elect to have it or not. I do not remember reading that it was going to appear. I was concerned when it first appeared. Does it have to be there??? [edited email from community support forum]

Hi,

Click the Customize pencil Fx141NewTabCustomizeIcon icon at the bottom right of the New Tab page and then click Manage widgets. This should allow you to hide widgets you don't want to see.

The widgets have been added automatically to showcase them for more users, but you can opt out (as always). This is one of the rare cases when you haven't been asked beforehand.
