Why do subtitle fonts keep changing from bright white on dark background to light gray on white background? There used to be a convoluted way to fix it on the gear icon on a YT clip. I can't find it now. I

I need to know how to make subtitles readable again. I want bright white on dark back ground. This constant dim gray on light back ground is terrible. I am elderly, deaf in one ear and wear a hearing aid. I need the subtitles to be readable.

Please tell me how to fix them if it is something I can change. Or is it something the channel owner is doing? That same question applies to the YT bingo card video rectangles. Sometimes they are giant and in a single row I like the 3 wide display, like a bingo card.

Lastly, why do the video choices display on the right side of the screen? That makes the info below them unreadable. They used to be on the left side so hovering over the text is readable. Who is charge of fixing that?
