Hi Frosty,

No worries — you can reinstall Firefox on Windows 8.1 pretty easily. Here’s how:

1. Back up anything important If you have bookmarks, passwords, or settings you want to keep, make sure you’re signed into your Firefox Account (Menu → Settings → Sync). That way they’ll come back after reinstalling.

2. Uninstall Firefox

Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl, and press Enter.

Find Mozilla Firefox in the list, select it, and click Uninstall.

When asked, choose whether to remove personal data (skip this if you want to keep your bookmarks and passwords).

3. Download Firefox again

Open another browser (like Internet Explorer).

Go to: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release

Download the Windows 32-bit version — it works best with Windows 8.1.

4. Install

Double-click the file you downloaded and follow the steps.

Sign back into your Firefox Account (if you used one) to restore your bookmarks and settings.

That’s it — you’ll have a fresh copy of Firefox without the messed-up settings.
