Lost bookmarks

For some reason, after I had already been using my Firefox account, it would not let me open it up. It said I was trying to use an old version and had to update. So, I did. Then I had to change my password because I could not remember what mine was. Now, I have lost all my bookmarks and stored passwords. How can I recover them?

Unfortunately, if you Reset your Mozilla Account login, your Sync cloud data was flushed. So we need to help you find local files on your computer from before that.

Do you have a folder on your Windows desktop named "Old Firefox Data"? This is only created if you used the Refresh feature in Firefox. If you see the folder, check inside to see how old the files are. That would determine whether it makes sense to restore them.

Next, could you try the first section of the following article about checking for other profiles: Recover lost or missing Bookmarks. Anything useful there?

what do you mean my data was flushed? How can I lose ALL of my bookmarks? When I manually type in the local Utilities to pay the bill, my log-in still comes up....but are my bookmarks gone????????????????????????????????? Just because I had to make a new password? My login is still the same, only the password was changed as I couldn't remember from ever how many years ago I set Firefox up.

It is the Sync cloud data that gets flushed when you change your Mozilla Account password. Your bookmarks are still stored locally on your computer. Did you change computers? Or did your local Firefox data get erased? Please describe the circumstances leading up to the problem.
