Often when I move a message from inbox to a file folder, the entire inbox goes blank.
The messages are all still there, but nothing remains that may be selected.
My workaround is to type a period (.) in the search bar and Filter messages by: Sender. Since every sender's email address contains a period in it, I'm able to see the entirety of the inbox contents again.
Still, it's a pain in the butt!
